Celebration Committee Chair and Zip Code Ambassador - Denise Root
I was born in Ohio. My father was in the Army so we moved a lot and he retired to Florida in 1980 where I stayed to finish elementary school, middle school, high school and then off to Tampa for college. I met my husband at the University of South Florida (He’s a Pi Kappa Alpha) and married him in 1989. We moved to Punta Gorda, FL where I worked in banking. I am a mom of 2 men. One is 32 and is married and lives south of Charlotte. The other is 23 and is finishing up at the University of Alabama. (He’s a Lambda Chi Alpha). We moved to many places because of my husband’s job and settled in Cornelius in 2017 with my parents who have lived with us for almost 20 years. My most recent profession was an event planner and I officially retired in 2018. So now I just plan for fun, without pay ;) My husband is retiring at the end of February so my life will be taking a new path soon!
